Hello Fellow Fans of All Things Commodore!
With Halloween now behind us and snow on the ground - it can only mean one thing: Time for another meeting! (And that Christmas is coming!) For me, this time of year is ripe with happy memories of time spent with my C64 since during my formative years; Christmas Holidays were a time of year that I got to enjoy a LOT of time with my Commodore computers. For me, most of that was spent on Commodore Bulletin Board Systems (BBSes) but also writing stories on my SuperPET 9000 or C64 in Font Master II, and even playing the occasional Raid on Bungaling Bay or any number of the Epyx Olympic Game classics. Without JiffyDOS or any kind of RAM expansion, Geos always seemed neat, but quite impractical for me - even after I traded my Koala Pad for a mouse, but I spent a fair amount of time drawing with that Koala Pad (before the trade) in Doodle and the Koala Paint program. I even wrote a dozen or so tunes with various music editors (Future Composer 4 probably being the main one) and churned out a number of quick-and-dirty demos showing off my artwork and musical endeavours.
These days, my use of Commodore gear has changed, but I feel no less of a tug towards it when the mood strikes - leading me to ponder a number of questions for you, the reader:
- What do you use your Commodore for these days?
- What piece of Commodore 'kit' is on your Christmas Wish List?
- What would you like to see at an upcoming CCUG meeting?
