Most years, we start the season on the second Tuesday of the month, to give people a chance to recover from the labour day long weekend.
This year is no different, but .....
Our usual meeting spots are already booked up, have been for a couple of weeks. I've been watching to see if any might open up.
So, ideas are needed.
I thought maybe we could start the year with a BBQ, I'd be happy to host, if the weather would co operate a little. Or have a get together at A&W, we haven't been there in a while.
I'd love to hear your ideas.

Good morning, Blaine!
Indeed the summer has gone quickly... I would be fine with a Bar-B-Q to kick off the next season of Commodore User Group Meetings. I just got back from a family vacation in Florida, during which I got to pop in to meet one of my Commodore heroes: X-Tec. He showed me his vast collection of Commodore gear, I got to see the computers that run all of of his many Bulletin Boards, and we even broke out a soldering iron and schematics and were able to fix a C128DCR power supply together. X-Tec has been involved with New Image Software, the makers of Image BBS and has been one of the developers of Image BBS since the 1.2 days!
I also spent quite a bit of time over the summer working on restoring an 8250 drive with mixed results. I found out what typically fails on these drives, which - alas, it probably unavoidable and quite un-fixable, but I learned a lot in the process and have some new ideas to pursue as a result which I would love to tell you about.
If no other venue opens up in the interim, I'd say lets plan on descending on Blake's back yard. Let us know what we can bring so you don't have to supply all the food and beverages yourself.

BBQ sounds good to me, maybe I should send out an email to that effect so people can plan accordingly. Would that be on the Tuesday, Sept. 5?

According to the weather, Tuesday is probably not a great idea, but Saturday the 9th and Sunday the 10th look good.
Would either of those days work ?
