Well, it's decided, the next computer I purchase will be David's Commander X16c. Link: Commander X16But I'll stick with learning 6502 assembly for the PET 2001 (32K, BASIC v2, and PETSD) and writing my first software for it.

It's been interesting to watch this become a reality.
When I first watched his musings about the ideal computer, I though it was an interesting idea, but unlikely to become a reality.
I might be joining you in a purchase, though, I suspect the first run will get bought up pretty quickly.

There will be three main releases X16p, X16c, and X16e - I'll be holding off until the X16c, in hopes that the project makes it past the "p"rototypes, and into their first "c"ommercial run.

Yes, unless you are part of the design and testing team, waiting for the commercial version is the smarter choice.
I suspect one may be in my future as well.

I only just saw the Commander X16 a few days ago while watching a retro youtube channel. Looks pretty cool! I didn't research it yet. Are the games for it going to be native to the system itself?
