Wow, they look great ! Nice job ! If you need some disks, I have lots, I'm happy to share. Don't need to worry about self isolation with a Commodore, they don't get viruses ! Seriously though, They look great ! Thank you! Indeed, C64s don't have any virus problems I may ask you to lend me a floppy drive or two if I don't get the blank floppies before the next meeting. Thx! By the way, if anyone needs to seriously retrobright anything, please let me know. I've those UV lamps available. You can find the concentrated peroxide in any format here: goo.gl/maps/j426ytVP8fWYDZgg6
Thanks! Yep. I already ordered a set of belts from somewhere else. I also got another datasette quite cheap, hopefully it will work!

Hello there, I just got some extra add-ons for my C64 and I thought I should post about them for completeness of this long thread So, I was lucky enough to get a new datassette for like $20 in its original cardboard box. It also included the "friendly introduction to your datassette" manual The only minor problem is that it's a 1531 datassette for C16, Plus/4 models... with the round connector... But, hey no worries, I found this adaptor on eBay. Besides, the same eBay shop sells original C64 games (and many other Commodore things), so I took the opportunity to buy one of those games as an easy way to test my 1541 floppy drive unit (see below). Time to load a tape on my 'new' (actually, it's in mint condition) datassette... aah old-days... piracy as its best Love when the datassette paused itself and resumed the loading process automatically. I don't remember the Spectrum doing that. Anyway, the process was quite fast to be honest, I believe it's a small game though. And here comes "Alcazar", which by the way, it's a type of Moorish castle. Take a break and look at some pictures of a Real one Ok, now that we managed to escape the fortress... who is ready for some basketball? I've got this one I really like how detailed are the "floppy disk care instructions" Let's load it. I'm just dropping here a photo of my C64 setup as it's today Mmhhhh, how do I play this game? Again, I like the attention to detail they had back in the day. Even though it's not the best game manual I've ever seen and it has a typo on the LOAD command, it's quite useful! Well, that's about it. Hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did making it. Love to share my efforts, surprises, joys and sorrows I went through during this time. I really appreciate all your responses and engagement. Stay safe and healthy! and have fun with your Commodores!

Wow, kahuna, excellent work!
Might you clarify your retrobright mixture, and specify the UV lamps you're using?
And you used De-Solv-It, Windex, and baking soda to clean the motherboard?
Never heard of / seen De-Solv-It before, I usually use Goo Gone orr sticker removal.

Thanks! it was a good effort and great experience I don't remember how much tap water I put in the crate. I just wanted to be sure the case was totally submerged. I used 2 litres of 40 volume clear peroxide, that's for sure. These are the two 80W UV lamps I utilized: amzn.to/2Sn0MsSYou can borrow them if needed, just let me know. Regarding the keys, I went with 20 volume peroxide in cream format, using a brush to extend it. Edited to add that for the motherboard I used isopropyl alcohol and an antistatic brush. The baking soda etc. was for the case. De-solv-it and Go-Goone are essentially the same. There were a couple of stickers by the joystick ports that I wanted to remove, that's where I used this product. Have fun!
